Terrified of Public Speaking? Here's Why (and What You Can Do About It)

You’ve done well in your career—but public speaking still fills you with panic. Here’s the science behind it, and the tools to finally feel calm when you speak.

    You’re smart.

You’ve done well in your career.
But when it’s your turn to speak your body shuts down.

    Your chest tightens.
    Your voice shakes.
Your brain goes blank, or races through everything that could go wrong (or tells you jumping out of a window to get out of public speaking wouldn't be the worst plan...)

And no matter how many times you tell yourself “It’s fine” and "it's only talking", it doesn’t feel fine.

You’re not alone — and you're not broken.

This is what public speaking fear really looks like:

    • Dreading meetings for days in advance

    • Over-rehearsing small updates

    • Feeling physically sick before presentations

    • Avoiding career opportunities that involve speaking

    • Worrying you'll look “stupid,” “awkward,” or be “found out”

    And here's the hard truth:
No amount of telling yourself to “just be confident” is going to fix it (sorry, that would be awesome).

    Because the problem isn’t logic.
It’s your nervous system thinking you're in real danger.

The science of why you panic when speaking

When your brain perceives speaking as a threat (even subconsciously), it triggers a fight-flight-freeze response.

So while you're trying to act calm…
your body is prepping for danger.

    That’s why your voice shakes.
    Why your mind blanks.
Why even a small intro can feel like a cliff edge.

    It’s not weakness.
    It’s wiring.

    But here’s the good news:
    Wiring can be rewired.

That’s exactly why I created my course

    It’s called:
🎤 “Beyond the Fear: Overcome Public Speaking Anxiety in 6 Weeks”
    And it's on Udemy now.

This course is for people who are:

    • Capable, smart, and tired of holding back

    • Sick of overthinking every word

    • Not looking to be perfect, just to speak like themselves

    • Ready to feel calm in their body and clear in their mind when they speak

This is not about becoming a TED speaker.
It’s about being able to say what you need to say, without dread or panic (or puking).

This course is the result of my journey from tech-Director to psychotherapist in training to confidence coach and trainer:

    This course has:
    ✔️ Psychology-backed strategies
    ✔️ CBT-informed tools
✔️ Exercises that actually help you embed what you learn in your real life

What does life look like after panic?

Imagine walking into a meeting… and not over-preparing.
Saying your piece… without obsessing over every word.
Being asked a question… and not freezing in fear.

That is possible. If I got over my fear, so can you.
And you don’t need to “fake it till you make it” to get there.

You just need tools that work with your nervous system and not against it.
